Hey there! We're the Zylstra family. I know, there are a lot of us. I'll start at the beginning...

 

I'm Kara & I married Dave (the farmer). We first met when Dave's brother & my best friend got married. We walked together in their wedding and 7 years later we walked down the aisle again as husband and wife. Right away Dave & I started building our family and a few months later we were expecting our first child. Here we are 12 years later in our loud, chaotic home full of 5 kids, 2 large dogs, farm dirt and so much love.

Both of us came from farming families, and it was important to us to raise our kids the same way with the same values. It is important to teach them to work hard, that they know where their food comes from and how important family is. Dave runs the farm and I am a professional photographer. My days are filled with raising babies, capturing life's special moments, running the kids to dance and ball practice & bringing Dave lunch at the field during planting & harvest and I wouldn't have it any other way. Dave spends his days in the fields or with his cattle. He likes to send me photos & tell me how cute they are. 

 

So here we are, married, running 2 businesses, raising 5 kids, 2 dogs, a handful of chickens & a 100 cows (or so). We can't wait to share our real life & real good beef with you!
